  • Program Improvement transfers accepted Feb. 21-March 16

    The RUSD Program Improvement Department will be accepting applications for Program Improvement (PI) transfers for the 2012-2013 school year from Feb. 21-March 16 Letters and applications have been mailed to families of students who attend PI schools. Applications can also be obtained at the RUSD District Office, 3380 14th Street and also can be found on this Website under Program Improvement Choice. Questions can be directed to the Program Quality office at 788-7135, x80721.

  • Congratulations North High Girls' Tennis

    Congratulations to the John W. North High School Girls' Tennis Team for earning the Riverside County Office of Education's Academic/Athletic Award. The award recognizes teams that have the highest GPA i the county among athletes in that sport. The North Girls' Tennis team has an average GPA of 4.15. The team was honored at the February 6 Board of Education meeting.

  • Congratulations Science Fair Winners!

    More than 300 students participated in this year's RUSD Science and Engineering Fair. Gold medal winners in the elementary and junior divisions and silver and gold medal winners in the senior division will now move forward to the RIMS Science and Engineering Fair, to be held April 3 and 4 at the National Orange Show in San Bernardino.     While the California kindergarten admission date has been moved from December 2nd to November 2nd for the 2012-13 school year (per the Kindergarten Readiness Act of 2010), there continues to be much debate and uncertainty about the state policy and whether funding will be in place to support a transitional kindergarten programFor RUSD, we have decided to stay the course of our current kindergarten program and continue our long-standing admissions and sound instructional program for all students who will turn 5 years old by December 2nd.

    The RUSD Board of Education on Monday appointed current Ramona High School Principal Susan Mills as the new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. The Board also appointed Dr. Jamie Angulo as Principal of Ramona High School.

    RUSD students who participated in the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt FUSE Algebra pilot scored 20 percent higher on standardized tests than their peers who used only textbooks, study results show.

  • RUSD’s Start Your Day R.I.G.H.T. program expands to Beatty/Mt. View

    Start Your Day R.I.G.H.T., a grant-funded effort to increase student participation in federally-funded breakfast programs, expanded to two additional schools this week – Beatty and Mt. View Elementary Schools. RUSD now has five participating schools. Madison, Pachappa, and Bryant Elementary Schools piloted the program in the fall. More will be brought on board throughout the year.

Virtual Tour of the New RUSD Website

  • Choice Offered at Four Schools

    Parents of students enrolled at Fremont, Hyatt, Jefferson and Monroe Elementary Schools are being offered the opportunity to transfer to one of two schools that are not in Program Improvement for the 2011-2012 school year. Letters were sent as soon as the program Improvement status of each school was released by the California Department of Education. If your child is a student at one of these four schools, and you would like more information, please contact the Program Quality Department at 788-7135 Ext. 80721.
