  • Sierra "Model of Excellence" Award and AVID National Demonstration School

    Did you know that Sierra Middle School received the prestigous "Models of Excellence" award from the County Office of Education? This award was given to Sierra for our strategic creation of our master schedule and the innovative ways that we motivate and monitor our students' achievement. Also, we are one of a small number of schools throughout the country that are considered to be a "National Demonstration School" for AVID because of our exemplary AVID program.

  • Accelerated Reader

    We are having our first AR "store" this coming Thursday - Feb. 23rd! Students who have earned at least 75 AR points will be able to "shop" at the store. Students can use their Accelerated Reader and Reading Counts points to buy books, electronics, fun stuff and snacks. All Sierra students should be doing daily reading and taking AR tests on a regular basis.

  • 8th Grade Promotion Criteria

    What is the criteria for 8th Grade Promotion participation? This year's 8th grade students must pass 15 out of 18 of their classes THIS year in order to walk in the 8th Grade Promotion.
