  • Important Notice for Parents!(Click for Spanish)

This is an important message from Principal Mshana of Lincoln High School. During the past week, we have been made aware of a new smartphone app called Burnbook which allows users to post anonymously to school forums. Unfortunately, this app is being used to bully, intimidate, and threaten students and staff. We are working collaboratively with law enforcement to monitor the activity on Burnbook and other social network sites and will take the appropriate action to protect and keep our students and staff safe. I strongly urge students to avoid using this app or others that allow anonymous posts. It is also a good idea for you to discuss with your student the importance of appropriate and respectful use of social media. It is important for everyone to understand that access to social media can be traced to the user’s smartphone or device and that internet history never truly goes away. If you have further questions or concerns, feel free to call me at (951) 788-7371

  • What would most help all students to be successful?

In the coming weeks, you will be asked to give your thoughts on this question: “What would most help all students in RUSD to be successful?” We need to hear from you as our district begins putting together its Local Control and Accountability Plan. Districts throughout California are crafting these plans, which signal a significant change from the state-controlled “one size fits all” educational plans of the past to a more locally-minded plan that specifically addresses the needs of our students here in Riverside. Make sure to have your voice heard! Come of one of the community meetings, included one right here at our school. You can find a full list of meeting dates and times at: www.successforstudents.org. You also can share your ideas at this website.
