Congratulations to the 53 RUSD Historians who represented us well at National History Day-California, held at William Jessup University in Rocklin, California this past weekend. Of our 31 projects, 16 made it to the final rounds and 14 students were named state champions, runners-up, or received honorable mentions. The Riverside Unified School District is pleased to announce the selection of a new Principal for Poly High School and Director of the District’s Educational Options Center. The candidates’ names will be submitted to the Board of Education for final approval at the July 15, 2013 Board of Education meeting.Taking the helm at Poly High School will be Dr. Michael John Roe, currently Principal of Tahquitz High School in Hemet. Taking the position of Director of the RUSD Educational Options Center will be Dennis Deets, currently Program Manager of the California Technology Assistance Project, Region 10 – a program run through the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools.Click the headline above to read more about the new members of our leadership team.
