Alcott Elementary School is located in Riverside, CA and is one of 52 schools in Riverside Unified. It is a public school that serves approximately 900 students in grades K-6. Our mascot is the Alleycat and our school colors are blue and yellow. Built in 1961, Alcott was named in honor of author Louisa May Alcott who wrote one of the most widely read books of the 19th CenturyLittle Women.  In the spirit of Louisa May Alcott, a lifelong learner, our motto is "Learn More, Be More!"  We recently celebrated our 50th birthday with a schoolwide celebration- view our video on the left.

  •  Team Spirit

What is the key to success on the field and in life?
    TEAM SPIRIT!
Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey (and former Alleycat extraordinaire) was our Keynote Speaker at this month's Coach Awards.  Mayor Bailey did an AWESOME job motivating our students and reminding them that Team Spirit can be found at work, play, and on the field!
Sebastian Puraci, UCR Track and Field standout was another speaker at this month's Coach Awards.  Sebastian was joined by Taylor Johns and Austin Quick from the Men's Basketball Team, who handed out awards and high-fived our Team Spirit Award recipients.   Thank you, UCR, for inspiring our students and sharing how Team Spirit can lead us to our goals! To learn more about UCR's Men's Basketball, click  here.  For information on Track and Field, click here.
These students have shown they have what it takes during the month of April.  Congratulations!

inch and miles

Alcott's character education program is based on Coach John Wooden's book, Inch and Miles - The Journey to Success. Throughout the journey, Inch and Miles find out the real meaning of success by meeting fourteen characters in the story who represent the values that will guarantee success. By the end of the journey, Inch and Miles understand that:

Success isn't having trophies or toys.

It isn't a medal or friends of your choice.

What is Success? That's easy to see.

It's trying to be the best you can be!

Don't worry what others may have or might say.

When trying your best,

Success comes your way.

THANK YOU to PTA and ASF for providing the opportunity to teach the  Pyramid of Success to our students.
