CTAP is a program of the California Public Utilities Commission that provides free phones to people who have difficulty seeing, moving, remembering, hearing, or speaking. Regardless of age or income level, a person with special needs can obtain a special adapted phone by filling out an application and having a doctor sign it, certifying which difficulty he/she has. The SmartRiverside Digital Inclusion Program is a program designed for bridging the Digital Divide in our local community. Low-income families do not have the available resources to take advantage of new technologies that can assist in improving their education, communication and overall quality of life.

American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) provides a recreational soccer program for children ages 4 ½ through 18. AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) is a national organization with 650,000 registered players and 200,000 registered volunteers. It delivers programs through individual units called Regions. Riverside is Region 47. The regions are grouped into Areas and Sections. Riverside belongs to Area 1-R, the other regions of which are in Riverside County. Area R in turn is part of Section 1, which covers Los Angeles County, the Inland Empire all the way to Nevada, as well as parts of Nevada. In Riverside, our program has over 5000 players and operates our primary season which begins on the Saturday after Labor Day in September and ends in mid-December. Our secondary program runs in the spring.
Prior to January 1997, local programs for children with special needs were very limited. This program was established to provide sporting events for these children with special needs.
Friendly Stars is a social and recreational program for developmentally disabled adults, year-round program. Club meets Friday evenings 6:30pm-8:30pm for disabled adults 18+. Activities are designed to promote interaction between particiapnts and staff in a safe environment. We meet at Villega’s Community Center @ 7240 Marguerita Ave. Riverside, CA 92504. Registration is every 6 months.

Little League Baseball has become the world’s largest organized youth sports program. In the space of just six decades, Little League has grown from three teams to nearly 200,000 teams, in all 50 U.S. states and more than 80 countries. The basic goal has remained the same as it was in 1939, to give the children of the world a game that provides fundamental principles (sportsmanship, fair play and teamwork) they can use later in life to become good citizens.
National Junior Basketball (NJB) is a nonprofit organization that was founded by Dennis Murphy, Jr. in 1984. Murphy was previously a coach at Garden Grove High School when he had vision of a youth basketball league based on sportsmanship and player development. The NJB program offers three divisions for boys and girls in first through 12th grade. Clinic division is for 1st and 2nd graders, stressing fundamental skills and personal growth. The High School Program is for 9th through 12th grade players who did not make their high school team. The NJB also offers the All-Net Program for the advance players grades 5th - 8th through their chapters. This division prepares the athlete for high school competition.
Orangecrest ASA was formed in January of 2007. It was formed in order to teach our girls the right way to play the game of softball. While Little League is a tremendous organization, it teaches girls how to play baseball. Through ASA, we have begun to teach the girls the rules they will need to know to play high school and college softball.
PONY Baseball and Softball is designed to "Protect Our Nation's Youth" by providing experiences in youth baseball and softball that will help young people grow into healthier and happier adults.
The goal of the Orangecrest J.A.A.F. Youth Football and Cheer Organization is to teach young men and women the fundamentals of football and cheer in an atmosphere that challenges and supports team sportsmanship, individual self-discipline, physical fitness, and positive competition. We seek to comply with the rules and guidelines set forth by the Southern California J.A.A.F. conference and our own Chapter by-laws. We hope to create meaningful experiences for each participant that they may take what they have learned and the relationships they have formed, to remain active in this and other youth programs. It is our desire that the participants witness the value of adult volunteer service and that the Orangecrest J.A.A.F. Youth Football and Cheer organization serves as a positive presence in the community.
Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is a non-profit organization that provides youth football and cheer & dance programs for participants in 41 states and several countries around the world. Consisting of approximately 400,000 young people ranging from ages 5 to 16 years old, PWLS is the largest youth football, cheer and dance program in the United States.
The Riverside Aquatics Association (RAA) is a USS year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.
Riverside Aquatics Association provides a comprehensive swimming and water polo program in the Inland Empire area. Our teams philosophy is to teach young swimmers and water polo players the fundamental swimming skills, water polo skills, discipline, teamwork, and, of course...FUN! Riverside Water Polo has boys and girls teams from ages 6 thru 20. All participants are placed on a team according to age.
Founded in 1958, the Riverside Aquettes is a non-profit, year-round Synchronized Swimming program dedicated to developing not only accomplished athletes… but outstanding young women, through the sport of Synchronized Swimming. The club stresses physical fitness, teamwork, a high standard of moral values, and the ideals of good sportsmanship.
The Riverside Girl's Softball Association (RGSA) has brought Riverside recreational fast-pitch softball since 1970. RGSA gives girls and young women ages 5 to 18 the opportunity to learn good sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork, to improve their skills, and to have fun in the process. RGSA follows Amateur Softball Association (ASA) rules in most cases. RGSA, as an independent, nonprofit organization, depends on the efforts of parents, coaches, and community members.
Riverside Junior Tennis League (RJTL) is in it's 16th season of providing competitive tennis programs for youth in the greater Riverside area.
Junior All American Football & Cheer is a safety first tackle football program for youth from ages 7 to 14. Inland Empire Junior All American Football and Cheer’s objective is to inspire today’s youth, to practice the ideals of health, citizenship and character, to bring our youth together through common interest in sportsmanship, fair play and fellowship to impart elements of safety, sanity and intelligent supervision keeping the welfare of the youth first and foremost.
The long-term goal of the Riverside Youth Rugby Football Club is to promote Rugby in the Riverside area via their non-profit, the Riverside Amateur Rugby Football Association. They plan to do this by growing their existing youth presence, as well as helping foster new clubs in greater Riverside County.
Special Olympics Southern California - Riverside-Corona/Norco offers year-round sports programs and competitions for athletes from Riverside to Moreno Valley. Special Olympics Southern California is a nonprofit organization that empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition.
