Statement of Vision, Mission and Purpose
REEF is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation formed in 1993 to benefit the over 44,000 school children in RUSD. Our all-volunteer board is comprised of community leaders, parents, business associates, and educators. The early success of REEF was due in part to the fresh ideas of the grant program candidates and the vision of Bonnie Gail Polis, a founding member. The grants program was named in memory of her life and in recognition of her contribution to children and employees.
REEF has an Endowment Fund through the Community Foundation of Riverside. Building an endowment fund is a recognized method of insuring the continuation of REEF for many years to come by providing long term financial security. Endowment Funds usually grow through the gifts of appreciated stock, property donations, and/or bequests to the Foundation.
