Riverside Educational Enrichment Foundation

girl Mission Statement
The mission of REEF is to provide enriching educational opportunities for every student of the Riverside Unified School District by raising funds, assigning resources to assist the district in meeting its objective, and by promoting high morale among students and educators through community involvement and support.

Since REEF’s inception through to the last granting cycling in 2008, the Premier Sponsors, business partners and individual donors in the Riverside Community have donated $637,080.  The endowment established by REEF with The Community Foundation of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties has a current balance under professional management of $378,000. In its brief history, REEF has granted over $500,000 to RUSD through 624 teaching enrichment grants.

Statement of Vision, Mission and Purpose
REEF is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation formed in 1993 to benefit the over 44,000 school children in RUSD. Our all-volunteer board is comprised of community leaders, parents, business associates, and educators. The early success of REEF was due in part to the fresh ideas of the grant program candidates and the vision of Bonnie Gail Polis, a founding member. The grants program was named in memory of her life and in recognition of her contribution to children and employees.

REEF has an Endowment Fund through the Community Foundation of Riverside. Building an endowment fund is a recognized method of insuring the continuation of REEF for many years to come by providing long term financial security. Endowment Funds usually grow through the gifts of appreciated stock, property donations, and/or bequests to the Foundation.
