Mandatory clinics will be held May 21st, 22nd and 23rd, from 3:30pm - 5:30pm, with try-outs being held on Thursday May 24th. All 7th grade students who are interested, must pick up an information packet, get a physical AND have their parents attend a MANDATORY Parent Meeting - This week! All required info and paperwork can be picked up at the front office.
Central students attended the annual MESA Day competition on Saturday, February 25th at UCR. The students competed in math tests, bridge building, glider construction and flying, and designing egg-drop containers that prevent breakage. Noah Garthwaite won second place in the geometry test and Megan Hampton and Dominick Banuelos won third prize in the glider competition. Great job!! On Monday, January 9, The Riverside Educational Enrichment Foundation (REEF) awarded over $11,800.00 to teachers at Central Middle School to fund special projects for the students at Central. Congratulations to Alma Flores! Alma has been selected as Classified Employee of the Year for Central Middle School. Alma is the first person visitors speak to when they visit Central. As the “greeter” she is always warm, friendly, and helpful to our students, parents, and staff. Alma takes care of many tasks such as ELAC, School Site Council, Netbook Training, and helps organize the CST test. She attends all after school events in order to assist our Spanish speaking community. She is always willing to help whenever and wherever there is a need. We are pleased to have Alma Flores as our Classified Employee of the Year!
Congratulations to Mrs. Lynn Pittner! Mrs. Pittner has been selected as the Teacher of the Year for Central Middle School. Mrs. Pittner loves teaching and is constantly working for the betterment of her students. Students visit Mrs. Pittner's class at lunch and after school to get extra help and encouragement. Mrs. Pittner exemplifies all the qualities of a professional educator and co-worker. We are pleased to have Mrs. Pittner as our Certificated Employee of the Year!
Congratulations to Mr. Sanchez! Mr. Sanchez has been selected as Middle School Principal of the Year for RUSD 2011-2012! During his three years at Central Middle School, Mr. Sanchez has implemented a school wide Netbook technology based curriculum. Mr. Sanchez believes his nomination is due in part to his collaboration with teachers and staff who also share the same technological vision and expectations. We are proud to have Mr. Sanchez represent our school!
