The lunches are available almost every Monday-Friday during the summer (no lunches will be served on the July 4 holiday). The program continues from now through August 25. Thanks to his hard work, children at Sunshine now can do their reading with mermaids, dolphins, and a lobster talking on a "shell phone." The dedication ceremony took place on May 31. Board of Education members Dr. Chuck Beaty and Kathy Allavie and Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey stopped by for the ceremony.

  • Queen Elizabeth visits University Heights Middle School

On May 24, 7th grade University Heights Middle School students spent time with an unusual teacher -- Queen Elizabeth! With the help of Ms. Giselle O’Reilly, a history teacher at Uni, the Renaissance Faire has become an annual event where students have the opportunity to step back in time and visit historical personalities like Queen Elizabeth and her royal court. During their visit, students listen as Queen Elizabeth talks about the political problems associated with the Reformation and watch as she tries to educate her subjects on the impact of the Black Death and the life of the nobility. Students also have the opportunity to participate in traditional games, dances, and even watch a sword fight! The annual Renaissance Faire is truly bringing history alive for Uni students!
