Riverside Educational Enrichment Foundation

Mission Statement
The mission of REEF is to provide enriching educational opportunities for every student of the Riverside Unified School District by raising funds by expanding and creating community partnerships.  We do that by funding teachers grants related to activities in the sciences, physical education, language arts, math, social studies, technology and the visual and performing arts

Since REEF’s inception, to this last current granting period of 2014, the Premier Sponsors, business partners and individual donors in the Riverside Community have donated over $1.5 million.  The endowment established by REEF with The Community Foundation of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties has a current balance under professional management of $431,700. In its brief history, REEF has granted over $1.5 million to RUSD in teaching grants, touching all levels of education and activities.

Statement of Vision, Mission and Purpose
REEF is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation formed in 1993 to benefit the over 44,000 school children in RUSD. Our all-volunteer board is comprised of community leaders, parents, business associates, and educators. The early success of REEF was due in part to the fresh ideas of the grant program candidates and the vision of Bonnie Gail Polis, a founding member. The grants program was named in memory of her life and in recognition of her contribution to childr
en and employees.

REEF has an Endowment Fund through the Community Foundation of Riverside. Building an endowment fund is a recognized method of insuring the continuation of REEF for many years to come by providing long term financial security. Endowment Funds usually grow through the gifts of appreciated stock, property donations, and/or bequests to the Foundation.
