Liberty Celebrates "Art Under the Stars" event

Last Thursday Liberty’s students and families came out in droves to support the arts at their 12th annual Art Under the Stars event. The Liberty campus was decked from head to toe in student art work, supporting the theme: Art Around the World.  Families took in the hands-on art booths as well as grade level performances. Each grade level sang their hearts out with worldly songs. We had a special performance titled,  “You Are Not Alone” performed by the fifth grade students in dedication to their fellow classmate Cinthia Aguirre who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. There was not a dry eye in the house. The mood swiftly changed back to up-beat as families munched on pizza and tried their luck at the book spin in support of the arts. Over the last two years, upper grade students have learned new skills utilizing art supplies that would not usually be available in a regular classroom setting. This event was a great turn out and the school benefited by raising close to $1000 towards the Arts.

Liberty students enjoy "The Polar Express" reading by Librarian Mrs. Kenny

Mrs. Kenny is at it again! She was caught reading one her favorite holiday Christmas stories, The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg.

The students received a Polar Express ticket to enter the library for a hearing of The Polar Express and placed their tickets into a barrel for a special drawing at the end of story. Mrs. Kenny donned a train conductor hat while reading the story. She blew a train whistle and rang  silver bells from Santa’s sleigh. At the end of the story, she created a special drawing for a mug filled with hot chocolate, marshmallow, and a candy cane. It’s a fun tradition at Liberty for Mrs. Kenny.

Halloween Fun at Liberty Elementary!

On Thursday October 31st, Liberty Elementary welcomed a variety of scary, entertaining and creative characters. These characters, who were really our students in disguise, celebrated the day with their homeroom teachers and fellow classmates. Some of the teachers themselves dressed up as their favorite characters - both unique and scary. Liberty also held a "Halloween Parade" where kindergarteners showcased their Halloween attire while Kinder parents and Liberty students watched.

Farrell's School Fundraiser

This event was a great turn out. Liberty teachers assisted Farrell servers with customers. Some teachers took orders, filled drinks, delivered food, and sang happy birthday songs. Both Mrs. Garcia and Mrs. Rodriguez ran around the restaurant delivering "the zoo" dessert. Teachers and staff enjoyed interacting with Liberty students and their parents. Our school received 15% of the sales for the evening.

College Day at Liberty Elementary!

Liberty teachers, staff and event speakers participated in bringing awareness to our students by getting them college and career ready. All of our students showed their college pride by wearing college apparel, flags and colors. One student from each class represented their college by pinning their college mascot to their school location on the US MAP.
Guest Speaker(s) included: Cal Baptist University Alumni Rrian Patterson, Arrian Culjack who are both Registered Nurses. We were also pleased to have CBU's Dean of Admissions, Dr. Katherine Norwood.
